John P. Grayken is the founder and Chairman of Lone Star and has been actively investing in opportunistic and other assets for Lone Star for 30 years. Since establishing its first fund in 1995, Lone Star organized Funds totaling approximately $95 billion in aggregate capital commitments.

In addition, Mr. Grayken is the founder of Hudson, a full-service asset management company that provides advisory, administrative and support services to Lone Star Funds and their investment activities. Hudson, an SEC-registered investment adviser, has advised Lone Star Funds on approximately 1.28 million assets with an aggregate purchase price of approximately $273 billion.

Donald J. Quintin is Chief Executive Officer and Global President of Lone Star, where he leads the firm’s global strategy and overall management. Since joining Lone Star in 2010, Mr. Quintin has held senior leadership roles, including Global President of the Opportunity Funds and, earlier, President of Europe, where he directed origination and strategic initiatives across the region. His three-decade career spans global financial markets, with deep expertise in private equity, corporate debt and real estate investing.

Prior to joining Lone Star, Mr. Quintin was a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch, where he led distressed structured debt and mortgage sales and trading businesses as well as overseeing large legacy portfolios, including the ML Bank investment portfolio. He began his career at Salomon Brothers as a bond trader and senior manager within the mortgage and corporate trading divisions.

Mr. Quintin holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University, completed the Senior Executive Fellows program at the Harvard Kennedy School and holds a master’s-level postgraduate diploma from the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.

Vinay Khandelwal is the Chief Operating Officer of Lone Star. He is responsible for overall operations and assisting in the daily management of the firm. He has 18 years of experience in finance and investing in various asset classes across the U.S. and Europe.

Most recently, Mr. Khandelwal served as a Managing Director responsible for the operations and portfolio management activities of the Opportunity Funds in Europe and North America. Before joining Lone Star in 2018, he was a Managing Director on the underwriting team at Hudson in the U.S. and Europe.

Before joining Hudson in 2010, Mr. Khandelwal worked for several years at Lehman Brothers and Moody’s on the structured finance and private equity real estate teams.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and a master’s degree in business administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Mark Coker is the Chief Legal Officer of Lone Star. He is responsible for overseeing the legal and compliance functions of the organization. He has 35 years of experience in international business transactions.

Mr. Coker most recently served as Managing Director and General Counsel, Europe, for Lone Star and General Counsel of Hudson’s European business unit.

Before joining Hudson in 2016, Mr. Coker spent more than 25 years in private practice, most recently at Vinson & Elkins RLLP in London.

Mr. Coker is qualified and registered as a solicitor in England and Wales. He holds a master’s degree from Cambridge University in classics and law.

Jérôme Foulon is the Global Head of Commercial Real Estate. His principal responsibility is to set and ensure compliance with investment policy and strategy for Lone Star’s commercial real estate funds. Mr. Foulon has 27 years of experience in the real estate industry.

Before joining Lone Star in 2019 and Hudson in 2018, Mr. Foulon was a Managing Director in the real estate division of PSP Investments, where he was directly responsible for acquiring and managing more than $20 billion of large complex recapitalizations and privatizations globally.

He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from HEC Montreal. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Nick Beevers is the Global Head of Capital Formation. He is responsible for all fundraising, investor relations and business development activities for Lone Star. He has 26 years of experience in international investment banking and financial services.

Since joining Lone Star in 2011, Mr. Beevers served in multiple leadership positions in the Lone Star and Hudson organizations, most recently as Hudson’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. At Lone Star, Mr. Beevers’ prior roles have included President of the North America region, Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff and Global Head of Investor Relations and Fundraising.

Before joining Lone Star in 2011, Mr. Beevers spent eight years as an investment banker focused on capital market transactions with J.P. Morgan in New York and London.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business studies from the University of the West of England, Bristol Business School.

Steve Bernstein is a Senior Managing Director. He is responsible for Portfolio Management and Operations across the Asia Pacific region. Previously, he was Managing Director of Hudson Japan K.K., overseeing Hudson's activities across Asia. Mr. Bernstein has 41 years of experience in the investment industry and has worked with clients in Asia since 1983.

Before joining Lone Star, Mr. Bernstein founded and was Chief Executive Officer of SinoPac Solutions and Services based in Hong Kong.

He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Boston University.

Chip Cammerer is a Senior Managing Director and co-Head of North America Private Equity. He is responsible for originating Lone Star’s investment opportunities in North America. Mr. Cammerer has 25 years of experience in investing and investment banking.

Before joining Lone Star in 2020, Mr. Cammerer served as a Managing Director of Corporates at Hudson. Before Hudson, he served in investment banking roles at Citi, RBC and Deutsche Bank.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Southern Methodist University and a master’s degree in business administration from Vanderbilt University with a dual concentration in finance and accounting.

Luca Destito is a Senior Managing Director and co-Head of Europe Private Equity at Lone Star. He is responsible for originating Lone Star’s investment opportunities in Europe. He has more than 27 years of experience in acquisition analysis, structuring and financing, including 21 years in private equity.

Before joining Lone Star in 2014, Mr. Destito was a Partner at Investindustrial, where he oversaw the acquisition of investments, including a bank in Northern Italy and a listed Italian betting and gaming company.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from LUISS Guido Carli and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.

Michael Droege is a Senior Managing Director. He has shared responsibility for sourcing residential investment opportunities and providing strategic oversight of the management and disposition of Lone Star Funds’ existing residential assets in North America. Mr. Droege has more than 18 years of experience in U.S. residential structured products, residential performing and non-performing whole loans and other credit investments.

Before joining Lone Star in 2014, Mr. Droege worked in asset management at Hudson on various investments, including RMBS and CDO portfolios, whole loan portfolios and Caliber Home Loans, Inc., a mortgage originator and servicer. Before joining Hudson in 2008, Mr. Droege worked in the Financial Institutions Group at Deutsche Bank in New York.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and finance from Indiana University.

Jeremie Goldsztain is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Europe Real Estate. He is responsible for originating investment opportunities in the region. Mr. Goldsztain has more than 22 years of experience in originating, executing and financing commercial real estate opportunities.

Before joining Lone Star in 2008, Mr. Goldsztain worked in the Investment Banking division of Deutsche Bank in Paris and the Real Estate Financing division in London.

He holds a master’s degree in finance from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris.

Mark Hannan is a Senior Managing Director. He is responsible for originating Lone Star’s investment opportunities in Europe. He has more than 27 years of experience in financial markets, focused on the pricing, structuring and financing of consumer, residential, real estate credit products and control investments across corporate debt and equity.

Before joining Lone Star in 2011, Mr. Hannan spent more than 14 years investing proprietary capital in asset portfolios, including the development and execution of strategies for distribution, funding and hedging.

He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Cambridge University.

Simon Jin is the Chairman of Lone Star China and a Senior Managing Director. He is responsible for sourcing investments from Chinese counterparties and works closely with the Lone Star Senior Management Committee to efficiently monetize appropriate investments in China. Mr. Jin has nearly 35 years of experience in finance.

Before joining Lone Star in 2020, Mr. Jin was President of Greater China for S&P Global and CEO of S&P Global (China) Ratings. He previously served as Managing Director and President of UBS (China) Limited during his 23-year tenure at UBS.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, a master’s degree in computer engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in business administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Jeffrey Kert is a Senior Managing Director. He has shared responsibility for sourcing residential investment opportunities and providing strategic oversight of the management and disposition of Lone Star Funds’ existing residential assets in North America. Mr. Kert has 27 years of experience in U.S. residential structured products, residential performing and non-performing whole loans, securitization and asset-based financing.

Before joining Lone Star in 2020, Mr. Kert served as Managing Director and General Counsel, Credit at Hudson. There, he was responsible for acquiring, financing, structuring, managing and the disposition of various asset classes invested in by certain of the Prior Funds in North America, with a particular focus on residential mortgage assets.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a JD from the George Washington University Law School.

Dev Kapadia is a Senior Managing Director and co-Head of North America Private Equity. He is responsible for originating Lone Star’s investment opportunities in North America. He has 30 years of private equity investing experience.

Before joining Lone Star in 2022, Mr. Kapadia spent 18 years with Cerberus Capital Management, L.P, where, as a Senior Managing Director, he most recently served as the Head of the Industrials Private Equity business. Mr. Kapadia also previously served as the co-Chief Investment Officer for Cerberus Private Equity and the co-Chair of the Cerberus Private Equity Investment Committee. From 1996 to 2003, Mr. Kapadia served in various capacities with The Carlyle Group. Before joining Carlyle in 1996, Mr. Kapadia began his career at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, an investment banking firm.

Mr. Kapadia received two degrees, a B.S. in economics and a B.S. in engineering, summa cum laude, from The Wharton School and the School of Engineering and Applied Science, respectively, at the University of Pennsylvania.

Gavin Mackay is a Senior Managing Director. He is responsible for Business Development at Lone Star, which includes marketing and fundraising, investor relations strategy and structuring, strategic relationships and communications. He has 25 years of experience in commercial and tax law and financial services.

A 12-year veteran of Lone Star, Mr. Mackay served most recently as Chief Business Development Officer for Hudson, where he supervised global fundraising for both entities and was a member of the Hudson Board and the Hudson Executive Committee.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and English literature from the University of Cape Town, and LLB and LLM (Tax Law) degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.

Mitsuo Matsunaga is a Senior Managing Director. He is responsible for originating investment opportunities in Asia. He has more than 40 years of experience in financing, corporate investments, real estate and real estate-related private equity, corporate restructuring and bankruptcy.

Before joining Lone Star in 2001, Mr. Matsunaga was an executive at Arai Corporation, a privately held real estate company; a Principal at A.T. Kearney; and an LBO lending officer at LTCB, a Japanese wholesale bank.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Keio University and a master’s degree in law from the University of Pennsylvania.

Kambiz Nourbakhsh is a Senior Managing Director and co-Head of Europe Private Equity. He is responsible for originating Lone Star’s investment opportunities in Europe. Mr. Nourbakhsh has 26 years of experience in the financial industry.

Before joining Lone Star in 2014, Mr. Nourbakhsh was a Managing Director and Head of European Corporate Investing at Mount Kellett Capital Management. Before that, he spent 12 years at Goldman Sachs, where he worked primarily in the Special Situations Group, the firm’s largest on-balance sheet investing platform.

He holds a master's degree in social and economic sciences from the Vienna School of Economics.

Bob Ricci is a Senior Managing Director and Head of North America Real Estate. He oversees the origination of commercial real estate investments in North America, including $10.2 billion of direct equity and debt investments. He has more than 35 years of experience in commercial real estate.

Before joining Lone Star in 2009, Mr. Ricci was at Wachovia Securities for nine years, most recently as a Managing Director responsible for CMBS Trading, Securitization, Repo and Loan Distribution.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Bates College and a master’s degree in finance from Washington University. Mr. Ricci is also a CFA charterholder.

Danick Tremblay is Senior Managing Director, Portfolio Management and Operations. He is responsible for global portfolio management for the organization. He has 24 years of experience in portfolio acquisitions and asset management.

Before joining Lone Star, Mr. Tremblay spent eight years at Hudson, where he held multiple positions across the organization, most recently serving as Managing Director and Global Head of Portfolio Management.

Before joining Hudson and Lone Star, Mr. Tremblay was a Partner at Capital Square L.P., a real estate consulting and brokerage firm involved in all asset classes.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in urban planning from Université de Montréal and a master’s degree in real estate from Université du Québec à Montréal.

Rebecca Williams Smith is a Senior Managing Director and General Counsel for Lone Star. She is responsible for the legal function of the organization. She has practiced law for 25 years.

Ms. Williams Smith previously served as Deputy General Counsel to Lone Star. Before joining Lone Star, she worked for Hudson in a variety of capacities including as Managing Director, Senior Fund Counsel, with a focus on fund matters.

Before joining Hudson in 2008, Ms. Williams Smith was a Partner at Baker Botts L.L.P., where she advised on various corporate transactions with a particular focus on M&A transactions and public and private equity offerings.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a JD from Baylor University.

Keisuke Ando is a Managing Director. He is responsible for originating commercial real estate investment opportunities in Japan. Mr. Ando has 27 years of experience in Japan, including originating, executing and financing corporate and commercial real estate opportunities.

Before joining Lone Star in 2022, Mr. Ando was Head of Asia for Norges Bank Investment Management’s real estate business for more than eight years, a partner at Grove International Partners (formerly Soros Real Estate) for more than seven years and worked in private equity at Tokio Marine Capital.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Beau Harbour is a Managing Director. He is responsible for originating investment opportunities in North America. His particular focus is on special situations, distressed credit and private equity opportunities. Mr. Harbour has 20 years of experience in credit and private equity and has served on multiple ad hoc creditors’ committees in Chapter 11 restructurings.

Before joining Lone Star in 2019, Mr. Harbour was a Managing Director at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P., where he originated, underwrote and managed a portfolio of special situation and distressed investments across various industries.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in politics and certificates in finance and political economy from Princeton University.

Michael King is a Managing Director and the Chief Compliance Officer of Lone Star and Hudson, with responsibility for the compliance function of both organizations. He has 24 years of experience in securities compliance and regulation.

Before joining Lone Star in 2018 and Hudson in 2020, Mr. King served as Deputy Chief Compliance Officer at TPG and Chief Compliance Officer of TPG Capital BD and served as an Assistant Director with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and a JD from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.

Evan Layne is a Managing Director. He is responsible for originating commercial real estate investments across North America. He has nearly 19 years of experience in the industry.

Before joining Lone Star in 2024, Mr. Layne served as Vice Chairman at Newmark, where he was a leader in the firm’s real estate capital markets group. Previously, he spent more than 13 years at Eastdil Secured, where he most recently served as Managing Director, overseeing the investment sales business in New York.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Brown University.

Leighton Matheson is a Managing Director. He is responsible for all aspects of investor relations and capital raising across the Asia Pacific region. He has 26 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Before joining Lone Star in 2017, Mr. Matheson was a Managing Director at UBS with roles spanning the investment and private banks.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Otago in New Zealand.

Katharina Schade is a Managing Director. She is responsible for the origination activities in German-speaking markets and CEE. She has more than 11 years of industry experience as an investment professional, including deal sourcing and execution.

Before joining Hudson Advisors in 2013, Ms. Schade worked as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company serving clients in the financial services and private equity industries.

She holds a master's degree in business administration from Philipps-University in Marburg, Germany, and a PhD equivalent from Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

Tessa Truex is a Managing Director. She is responsible for originating commercial real estate investments in North America. Ms. Truex has 20 years of experience as an investment professional, including investment strategy, deal sourcing, underwriting and execution of value-added commercial real estate and credit-related investments.

Before moving to an origination role at Lone Star in 2016, Ms. Truex served as Vice President at Hudson Advisors, where she spent four years underwriting commercial real estate and non-performing loan portfolio investments for the Lone Star Funds in the Americas region.

Before joining Hudson, Ms. Truex worked in the Investment Management division of Lehman Brothers.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Middlebury College and a master’s degree in business administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mihir Unadkat is a Managing Director. He oversees strategic relationships and business expansion opportunities for Lone Star Funds and portfolio assets in the Middle East. Mr. Unadkat has more than 20 years of experience in financial services and private equity.

Before joining Lone Star, he served as a Managing Director at Hudson Advisors, with responsibility for overseeing global equity capital market activities and strategically evaluating monetization of assets held by Lone Star Funds. Mr. Unadkhat spent more than 15 years at Citigroup as a Managing Director, leading several large global equity and equity-linked capital market offerings in various sectors across regions (Americas, EMEA, Asia and the Middle East).

He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Santa Clara University and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.

Jonathan Ussher is a Managing Director. He is responsible for all aspects of investor relations and capital-raising across the EMEA region. He has 17 years of experience in financial services and private equity.

Before joining Lone Star in 2017, Mr. Ussher was a Vice President at Dyal Capital Partners responsible for European private markets investor coverage.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in government and economics from the London School of Economics.

Nico Weber is a Managing Director. He is responsible for the origination and execution of investment opportunities for Lone Star commercial real estate funds in Europe. He has 23 years of industry experience in real estate investment and asset management.

Before joining Lone Star in 2023, Mr. Weber was a Managing Director at Henderson Park where he acquired and managed traditional and operational real estate asset classes.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce with a major in real estate from the University of Auckland.
