Investment Characteristics

Although there is no investment that can be characterized as typical, investments made by Lone Star generally fall into one of five categories:

Asset Acquisition

Acquiring secured and corporate unsecured debt instruments and real estate assets with a short- to medium-term hold strategy.

Corporate Acquisition

Acquiring a controlling interest in an operating company, generally in the financial or real estate sector, for operational turnaround in a longer-term hold strategy.

Company Sponsorship

Providing capital to companies in a bankruptcy or similar legal proceeding to allow the company to recapitalize, emerge from the legal proceeding and turnaround its operations.

Since 1995, Lone Star Funds has acquired and managed more than 660,000 assets.

Refinancing / Recapitalization

Providing short- to medium-term mezzanine debt or preferred equity financing to recapitalize a real estate operating company or real estate assets.

Development

Providing debt or equity financing for real estate development or major rehabilitation of existing assets in various property types.
